Prof. Masakazu Kimura

Director and Professor, Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University

Dr. Masakazu Kimura received B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in electronics from Tohoku University, Japan, in 1983 and 1985 respectively. In 1985, he was appointed an assistant professor at Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University, Japan. He received Ph.D. in Engineering (Electronics) from Tohoku University, Japan in 1990. His research interests include 1. Crystal Growth of Semiconductors, 2. Semiconductor Devices, and 3. Pulsed-Power Applications of Semiconductor Devices. He has received Takayanagi Young Researcher Award in 1990 (Kenjiro Takayanagi Foundation). Now he is engaged in Tech-Transfer and Industry-Academia cooperation activities in Shizuoka University. He was also the President of Japan Society for Intellectual Production (from July 2017 to June 2021).
