Emeritus Professor of the University of Patras, Greece. Director for 25 years of the Postgraduate Program on Biomedical Engineering running since 1989 at UPAT; Founder and President of the Board of the Institute of Biomedical Technology - INBIT, an independent, non-profit Organization, established in 1991, to promote the Biomedical Engineering sector and improve quality of care and patient safety.
Research interests include Medical Imaging and Simulation, Medical Instrumentation and Management of Medical Technology
Served as chairman of the Clinical Engineering and the HTA Divisions of the IFMBE. Founding member of EAMBES Fellows and Elected Member of the International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering (IAMBE). Member of the Founding Council of the Global Clinical Engineering Alliance (GCEA). Received the Erasmus+ 30 Years Award, by the EU Parliament in 2018.
